Do you run dart tournaments?
Here is how Arachnid can help you win praise from your players.
How would you like to greatly reduce the amount of time previously
required to organize, setup, and run money making, player
pleasing dart tournaments of practically any size?
Now you can...
Introducing Arachnid’s Bullshooter Tournament Registration
"TR" software. This is the same software we use at all of our
major and regional tournaments. TR can be conveniently used
for dart open or seeded/ranked tournaments, pool, foosball, or
just about any other tournament event you can imagine. TR
works equally well for small and large tournaments (up to a
maximum chart size of 2048!), on one or multiple, networked
computers, easily handling several thousand participants.
TR simplifies the complete registration process, and automates
BYE insertion, randomizing, and preparing the bracket for the
initial lineup. For compatibility, laser or ink jet, letter sized
printouts are designed to fit Arachnid standard 64, 32, and 16
team charts, with one inch (25.4 mm) spacing down the middle.
These printouts are all clearly numbered and titled to maintain
proper order, and can be easily attached to the main chart. Or, if
you prefer, TR is flexible enough to allow label printing instead.
TR helps to eliminate inconsistencies by ensuring only the proper
number of participants can be added to an event. This will
prevent, for example, 65 player entries in a 64 player event.
For larger tournaments, TR accommodates split starting times.
For example, if 512 players require eight stages (groups of dart
machines), but you only have four actual stages available, four
stages can be scheduled to begin at 9 a.m., leaving the remaining
four stages for the afternoon.
Avoid wasted time answering repetitive player questions by
printing player or team CONFIRMATION labels containing the
event name, player/team names, the location, date, and time.
Then attach this label to the registration form for players to verify
entry details. This feature alone will save you time by immediately
flagging any player or data entry mistakes.
Here's how it works...
Event Setup:
Before setting up any tournaments, the first step is to define the
types of events you will host (Fig. 1): Event Name, Event Type
(X01, Cricket, or Both), Gender (Men, Women, Open, or
Mixed), for Team Events the Players Per Team, if Mixed the
number of Men and Women Per Team, whether Pros are
allowed, and if the event is Luck Of The Draw.

Tournament Setup:
TR supports multiple tournaments, and multiple events for each,
with multiple divisions per event.
Prior to each tournament the following setup information is
entered into TR (Fig.2): Tournament Name, Number Of Stages
available, Number Of Machines Per Stage, and the Maximum
Chart Size Per Stage (recommended 64 team chart maximum).
fig. 2 - Tournament Setup Screen
After this, then choose the events from the list you created (Fig.
2) and enter the Date, Time, Entry Fee, Number of Stages to be
used for that event, and Maximum Entries for that event.
Registration Closed can be checked at any time to prevent further entries.
Player/Team Registration:
Player Registration (Fig. 3) is the screen data entry personnel
will use most often. This is where players and events are selected.
For team events the TEAM NAME is entered first, followed
by PLAYER NAMES. TR will not only prevent the entry of too
many names on a team, but it will also warn you if there are not
enough. For a singles event only the PLAYER NAME is needed.
fig. 3 - Player Registration
To assist in data entry, the first three letters of the last name and
the TAB key will display a list of all participant last names starting
with those characters. This helps to avoid redundant data
entry. Once an entry is made, the CONFIRMATION LABEL
can be printed for player verification.
Seeded/Ranked Tournaments:
For a SEEDED tournament, the MPR and PPD for the players
needs to be entered as well. Of course, this can be done manually
as players are entered (Fig. 3) by using printed data supplied
by operators. But, for operators that use Dartman as their league
software, this information can be imported into TR automatically
prior to the tournament.
If the tournament is Ranked, the Maximum Number Of
Divisions and the high/low limits for each division must be
specified (Fig. 4). For example, for three divisions A, B, C, all
A players play A players, B players compete against B players,
and so forth.

Last Minute Changes:
If necessary, tournament and event changes can be made up
until actual events begin. Keep in mind, however, that if changes
are made confirmation labels may be invalid.
Printing the Chart:
Once you’re ready to begin the actual event, print the initial
bracket or labels. TR prints the center of the chart for starting on
a laser printer (Fig. 7). They are labeled with the event name,
and page number to keep it easy. Just tape them (Fig. 9) on top
of a 64, 32, or 16 team chart with one inch spacing between the
lines, and you are ready to go. It takes very little time between closing
registration and starting the actual event.

Special Features
Luck Of The Draw: Players are entered as singles and after the
registration is closed, the computer makes up the teams. If
ranked, you have a selection that you can use called
HIGH/LOW to pair the players in a more even manner.
Live Event Monitor (Fig. 10): The Tournament Director can
watch the Event Monitor live on screen as registration progresses. As players and teams are entered, the numbers change in real
time, so you always know how registration is progressing.

Reports
There are many reports that are available such as Team and
Player Report by event and by stage, Total Registrations, and
Tournament Summary. Reports detailing players and events with
stage numbers can be printed as well.
